About the Founder

Hello, I'm Kate.

Since I was a kid, food experiences were the thing that brought me happiness. All my fond memories are built around it. Then culinary school happened — and that's when I understood what food really does to people. It connects us. It grounds us. It makes us feel like we belong somewhere.

I trained at the Culinary Institute of America and went on to work in Jean-Georges' 3 Michelin Star flagship restaurant and several other Michelin Star kitchens in New York City. Food has never just been my career. It has always been my language.

Then I spent 15 years building technology platforms for some of the largest companies in the world — leading AI, machine learning, and data platform product teams across healthcare, fintech, edtech, and telecom. I built and scaled teams, shipped products used by millions, and navigated some of the most complex regulatory environments in the industry. I never stopped thinking about the people who made those food memories possible — and how little infrastructure existed to help them build careers.

That gap is what Mise is closing.

I am not a tech founder who discovered the food industry. And I am not a chef who learned to code. I am someone who lived on both sides and built the bridge that was always missing. Mise is the platform I always knew someone needed to build. I just decided it was going to be me.

Food belongs to everyone. Everyone deserves a seat at the table. That is what I am building toward — every day, in every decision this platform makes.

When I'm not building, you'll find me at the gym, with my dog Arya, somewhere near water, or in a cockpit working toward my private pilot's license. I move through the world with intention — and I build the same way.
